Williamstown 146.625 Repeater

The Williamstown Repeater “625”

146.625 -600 Khz PL: 100Hz

Status: On the Air, standalone

Notes: The repeater is located just South of Barre, VT and covers up and down the I-89 Corridor from Randolph (Exit 4) to Waterbury (Exit 10), with spots of usable coverage south of the Randolph/Bethel area. The repeater also covers the Central Vermont area, including: Montpelier, Barre, Berlin, Middlesex, Plainfield, Marshfield, Northfield, Orange, Corinth, Groton and Calais. The Williamstown Repeater is not currently linked to W1BD Cabot and KI1P Lincoln Peak.

The repeater is a Motorola MSF-5000 running at 110 watts. The repeater is connected to a Sinclair Technologies Q202 duplexer, which provides over 80db of isolation. All of this is connected to 7/8 hardline which runs to a 4-bay dipole, providing around 7dbd of gain. The link radio is a Motorola mobile radio, attached to a directional antenna on the building. All of this is controlled by a Link Communications controller.

In August 2018, this system was installed, replacing the club’s old GE Mastr II, which ran reliably for two decades.

Northfield 146.820 Repeater

The Northfield Repeater “82” 146.820 (formerly the Cabot Repeater)

-600 Khz RX PL: 100Hz TX PL: 100Hz

Status: On the Air

Notes:  The Northfield Repeater is linked full-time via RF to KI1P Lincoln Peak. The repeater is temporarily running at 25 watts but has an extremely sensitive receiver. If you can hear it, it can DEFINITELY hear you. The Northfield Repeater was upgraded in June of 2018 from a GE Mastr II to a Motorola MSF5000SP. The MSF5000SP currently runs 25 watts**. The repeater is connected to a five-cavity TX RX Systems duplexer, which provides plenty of isolation.  The link radio is a Motorola mobile radio, attached to a directional antenna on the tower. All of this is controlled by an S-COM repeater controller. ** The repeater is currently at reduced power output of 25 watts. Normally, the system runs around 100 watts. The output will be increased when the MSF-5000SP is replaced with a regular MSF-5000 system, which includes the amplifier

Note: This repeater was last located at the Cabot site. The Cabot repeater site was decommissioned on May 24, 2024.
